Towards a meditative mind...

Successful meditation can only be achieved after acquiring the pre-requisite conditions of the mind. It is a process of right living devoid of petty idiosyncrasies, sticking to higher order values with zeal and conviction, being unselfish and being of service to others as much as one can. A conceptual schema is given below towards the successful building of moral values, mental equanimity and intellectual poise. This is a virtuous circle - the more you live right, the more you develop this divine wealth and the more you have this wealth the more you develop passion to live right!

Here is description of the concept diagram:
It is the imperfections of our mind which prevent us from reaching a state of meditation. There are three types of imperfections of our mind - large quantity of thoughts, low quality of thoughts and wrong direction of thoughts. Depending upon the kind of person that you are, different methods have been prescribed to overcome these imperfections. If you are a physical personality, you can reduce negative, unsettling thoughts by engaging in more and more actions. If you are basically an emotional person, you can improve the quality of your thoughts by cultivating values of love, devotion and faith. And if you are an intellectual person, you can use your knowledge and wisdom to redirect your thoughts to higher goals. Another simple method advocated is to engage in introspection. Introspection means going through all the good and bad that you’ve done on a particular day before going to bed that night. If this is practiced regularly, there will come a time when you start to think before you do or say anything, which will result in positive thoughts, words and actions. Yet another way to prepare your mind for meditation is by remembering God before going to sleep and thinking of God first thing in the morning. This helps you to connect to a positive state from where you left off the previous night. If you adopt these methods sincerely, you will be able to develop your powers of meditation or concentration, which will lead to the development of moral values, mental equanimity and intellectual poise, which in turn will again strengthen concentration and meditation. (It is a VIRTOUS CIRCLE).

this can be achieved by practising regularly, right?Putting an effort to practise regularly is the toughest thing ,Guruji.give some tips for not deviating from the regular practise.seriously, this is the main reason why the vedantha and our routine is not matching.

Yes, true...
You need to have strong wil power to do this regularly,or you need to have the right priorities in life, and ultimately you only succeed if you do it for the sake of making the changes within and not for any selfish ends.
The onus is on us and not any one outside. This is the only way.... sadly!!

I think we whould not take to being a critique of Vedanta philosophy but rather be a self crtique - then only we can progress!!!
